- Ingestion and parsing of digital evidence obtained from electronic service providers to ensure forensic data has been properly prepared for filtering and review
- Tracking, reporting on, and documenting the status of the work on assigned networks
- Providing front line troubleshooting and support to end users of the assigned networks
- Utilizing a background of strong and broad experience to resolve issues at the assigned networks
- Working with end-users to research and test new technology as it becomes available
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Utilize the following principal technologies: Download Internet Service Provider (ISP) returns, modify format, verify and upload various ISP production returns; write SQL code/scripts to extract, modify, delete, or parse electronic data; understand server; commands and server data; maintain familiarity with mobile electronic data to include iCloud decryption; document work; and support both isolated and enterprise environment.
- Work with end-users to research and test new technology as it becomes available and maintain up-to-date knowledge of unique tools and software programs, to included current commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) and free open-source software.
- Apply technically sound system principals to achieve solutions within the guidance of the government program office.
- Replace faulty or outdated hardware or software and maintain/select supplies required to complete job duties.
- Recognizing failed hardware such as hard drives, power supplies, or entire servers and for making sound recommendations to customer management.
- Successfully complete training on customer case management systems.
- Independently perform FBI specific case management activities and directly interact with end-users operating on all assigned networks to ensure forensic data has been properly prepared for filtering and review.
- Assist end-users following FBI evidence handling protocols and standard set of procedures which will be provided during orientation and training.
- Shall understand the various production formats (.txt, GPG, HTML, mbox, Excel) provided by the Internet Service Providers (ISPs); how to upload data into OpWAN; how to parse the data for filtering, to include breaking down files that are too big; and how to use tools to load and parse the data, assign the filtering projects, monitor review progress, and maintain the OpWAN network and structure for the MLAT Unit.
- 5 years of experience working with mobile operating system (iOS and Android); Windows based operating systems; encryption software such as TrueCrypt, GPG, WinZip, 7zip, etc., and Linux and Apple operating systems.
- 5 years of experience working with Windows-based network systems running Windows 7 and above to include disk management.
- 5 years of experience working with other operating systems to include Linux, Unix, and HFS.
- 5 years of experience working with virtual machine (VM) environments, constraints and advantages of a VM.
- 5 years of experience with standard application software such as Microsoft Word,
- 5 years of experience configuring and using Thunderbird Email Client program and/or
- 5 years of experience working with Adobe Acrobat Pro or Phantom PDF that will be utilized to modify PDF documents for evidence review.
- 5 years of experience compressing and decompressing files using compression tools such as WinZip and 7Zip.
- 5 years of experience decrypting GPG files received from Apple, to include iCloud data, as well as decrypting data utilizing the encryption key provided by Apple.
- 5 years of experience decrypting removable media using TrueCrypt and/or BitLocker.
- 5 years of experience using various file system formats to include FAT32, exFAT, Mac OS Extended, and NTFS.
- 5 years of experience using standard media processing with USB drives, CDs, DVD, BluRay, and external hard drives for data storage and preparing the media, to include partitioning, formatting, creating folders, closing CDs and DVDs.
- 5 years of experience configuring peripheral devices such as tape drives, printers, external drives (hard drives, CD, DVD and BluRay drives).
- 5 years of experience writing SQL code/scripts to extract, modify, delete, or parse electronic data.
- 5 years of experience utilizing 7Zip to compress and decompress files, specifically those that contain Long File Names (LFN) that are not able to be read, modified, or deleted in Windows Operating Systems.
- 5 years of experience decrypting iCloud data and processing the decrypted data utilizing Cellebrite Physical Analyzer and/or other forensic software programs (i.e. Magnet Axiom) in order to review and extract the contents.
- 5 years of experience uploading .mbox files into Thunderbird (or any other mail client), to include removing duplicate emails if needed.
- 5 years of experience utilizing MD5 / SHA-1 / SHA256 Hash Values for comparison purposes.
- 5 years of experience utilizing command prompts.
- 5 years of experience with forensic software programs such as FTK, EnCase, X-Ways Forensics, and Internet Evidence Finder (IEF – Axiom).
- 5 years of experience with Android or iOS mobile platforms.
- 5 years of web-based experience using one or more programing languages including but not limited to Python, JavaScript, Java, C#, and C .
- 5 years of experience with SQL and NoSQL database platforms.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States of America. Sponsorship will not be a part of this contract.
- Must successfully complete a Blue Sky and customer background screening.
